Future Food is an entire ecosystem that makes food innovation a key tool to tackle the great challenges of the future, connecting with the world while promoting the local territory.

This comprehensive ecosystem centers around education, the Future Food Institute Trust, through its precious global partnerships, the Food Innovation Program and the numerous international training projects, provides a true platform of positive cross-pollination and constant inspiration.

In the ecosystem there is also a Future Food Accelerator that supports food corps and institutions on the paths towards open innovation, as well as training startup, nurturing communities of young entrepreneurs and scientists with “disruptive” ideas through laboratories.

The last project is the Future Farm: 70 hectares of land dedicated to combine farming traditions (protection of biodiversity and organic production of old variety of seeds), and new technologies and materials for the development of waste.

Education is nourishment, nourishment is what we eat. If we are what we eat, then we should start eating with our mouth, eyes and hears, what we want to be!
Education is our launch pad. Where we learn and take off. Learning about food starts at an early age and continues on for the rest of our lives. That is all FFI educational initiatives encompass all ages, from children, families, local communities, young entrepreneurs, future food leaders to food industry executives.

BOOSTING ENTREPRENEURIAL POTENTIAL TO LAUNCH NEW FOOD VENTURES

In order to achieve lasting progress it is essential to invest in the next generation of young entrepreneurs. In particular, young food entrepreneurs are key actors that can help in the sustainable advancement in the food industry. Collaboration sparks innovation, and we support entrepreneurship and celebrate the process of turning creative concepts into opportunities for real action through our start up accelerator.

COLLABORATIVE EFFORT – THE LINCHPIN TO FUTURE INNOVATION SUCCESS

We are at the forefront of dynamic experiences and movements in Italy and abroad through disruptive innovation events such as hackathons and co-creation events incorporating, a mix of different minds, diverse methodologies and international platforms that focus on how to confront global food issues; creating prototypes of business models or new products and evaluating the challenges with open dialogue to shape new scenarios for bettering the world. Since 2014, we has been promoting and mixing up different methodologies with several food hacking moments in Milan, Bologna and Ferrara, as well as maintaining a deep link with all other experiences, both nationally and internationally.
